Gronefeld GTM 06

Original painting size: 78 x 115 cm

The Grönefeld GTM 06 is a highly exclusive, limited-edition wristwatch, known as the Tourbillon Minute Repeater, created by Dutch watchmakers Bart and Tim Grönefeld. It was their first watch under their own brand name, presented in 2008.

Key Features and Details
  • Complications: The watch combines two of the most prestigious watchmaking complications: a tourbillon and a minute repeater (with cathedral gongs for a richer sound).
  • Limited Edition: The Grönefeld GTM 06 was produced in a strictly limited run:
    • 10 pieces in 18k 4N rose gold.
    • 10 pieces in 950 platinum.
  • Craftsmanship: The construction, assembly, and regulation of each watch required over six months of meticulous work. The fine finishing of the components alone, prior to assembly, took more than two months. Extensive “black polish” and other traditional finishing techniques are prominently featured in the movement.
  • Design: The watch has a contemporary, “masculine” look, with robust lugs specifically designed not to dampen the resonance of the minute repeater. The dial is formed by the beautifully finished movement itself.
  • Presentation: The watch comes in a very luxurious, black piano-lacquer box that also contains a humidor and a secret drawer with cigar accessories.
Availability

Due to the very limited production run, the Grönefeld GTM 06 is not generally available through standard retail channels. It is a rare collector’s item that occasionally appears on the secondary market or through auction houses like Sotheby’s. Potential buyers are advised to contact specialized watch dealers, auction houses, or the Grönefeld brothers themselves in Oldenzaal.
