The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Regulator is a groundbreaking timepiece that reinterprets the classic regulator watch with a three-dimensional, rapidly rotating vertical movement housed within a transparent sapphire case. The design is a fusion of traditional horological architecture and modern, kinetic artistry.

Key Design Features

• Case and Transparency: The watch features a 43mm case made of 18k gold (rose or white) with a single, large ring of transparent sapphire crystal forming the caseband. A domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the top, providing a panoramic view of the intricate movement from all angles.
• Vertical Rotating Movement: At the heart is the in-house manual-wound Caliber JCAM56, which is a vertical, multi-arm platform that completes a full 360-degree rotation every 60 seconds (one minute). This makes it the fastest rotating movement in the Astronomia collection.
• Regulator Display: True to a traditional regulator, the hours, minutes, and seconds indications are separated.
  • Hours and Minutes: Two separate, domed, translucent sub-dials (available in blue, green, or red hues) display the hours and minutes. They are mounted on the rotating platform but use a differential system to remain upright and readable as the main platform spins.
  • Seconds: A large, ring-shaped, translucent seconds dial spins counter-clockwise around the periphery of the movement, with a fixed hand pointing to the current second.
• Double-Axis Flying Tourbillon: A third arm of the movement carries a double-axis flying tourbillon. It rotates on its own axis in 60 seconds and simultaneously revolves around the central axis of the dial in 60 seconds.
• Aesthetics: The design emphasizes complexity and motion, with all elements in constant, visible motion. The use of vibrant, translucent sub-dials contrasts with the polished gold case and hands, offering a sleek, modern aesthetic that redefines a classic complication.
