Bouvet N 00/60

Original painting size: 78 x 115 cm

The Bovet 1822 Récital 28 Prowess 1 is an exceptional, limited-edition wristwatch that offers the world’s first mechanical solution for Daylight Saving Time (DST) complications in a world timer watch.

Key Features and Specifications

This timepiece is the result of more than five years of development and features a highly complex, hand-wound movement comprising 744 components.

  • World Time with DST Correction: The most notable feature is an innovative system of 24 rollers displaying city names, each with four positions for UTC, American Summertime (AST), Europe and America Summertime (EAS), and European Wintertime (EWT). A press of the crown simultaneously rotates all 25 rollers (including a time period roller) by 90 degrees to show the correct time zone and DST setting.
  • Perpetual Calendar: The watch also includes a perpetual calendar with roller-based indications for the date (retrograde), month, and leap year, plus a disc for the day. The inner workings of the calendar mechanisms are visible through the exhibition case back.
  • Flying Tourbillon: A large, expanded flying tourbillon is located at 12 o’clock, weighing just 0.35 grams, despite consisting of 62 components.
  • Power Reserve: The movement boasts an impressive 10-day (240 hours) power reserve from a single barrel.
  • Hand-Finishing: Every one of the 744 components is meticulously hand-finished, including hand-engraved bridges and “angle rentrant” (internal angles) chamfering, a highly difficult process that cannot be replicated by any machine.
  • Case: The watch case is the signature Dimier “Writing Desk” case, available in 18K red gold, 950 platinum, or polished Grade 5 titanium, with a diameter of 46.3 mm.
